I am a wedding planner who provides wedding day floral design services as well. I love flowers and make them very well-known on my social media pages and website. But brides still trust me to design their wedding. Through the years, I’ve discovered that these brides like and want flowers for their wedding. They just haven’t seen the wedding flowers they love. They haven’t seen their style in the weddings they’ve been seeing on Pinterest and Instagram.
If you’re a bride having trouble finding your wedding style in the sea of wedding centerpieces you’ve been seeing, keep reading, this will help you uncover your wedding vision.
1) Traditional Centerpieces are not for you.
I love a traditional wedding centerpiece but it’s not for everyone. The round ball with roses and hydrangeas may seem boring, but you like the look of a high grand centerpiece.
Alternative – Go grand in a different way style. Floral arches are such a statement piece and unexpected. This will give you the same feeling with a non-traditional look without the actual traditional look.
2) You love candles but you only like flowers
If you’re a bride that doesn’t hate flowers but you know you love candles more. You don’t have to pick one or the other for your wedding design. You can have them both. The key is we focus more on candles.
Alternative – Instead of wedding flowers being the main character of your wedding design, incorporate candelabras. Candelabras make fabulous statement pieces. It’s a great way to use candles and make a big impact.
3) A Minimalist wedding might be your vibe
The thought of over-the-top centerpieces makes you anxious. You can appreciate the look but you know it’s not for you. You want flowers but not a lot of them. Your wedding style is probably minimalistic.
Alternative: Create an elegant runner of greenery and simple blooms for your wedding centerpiece. This will give your table character without being over the top or boring.
For all my brides who believe they don’t want flowers for their wedding decor, I promise you, all you need to do is find the wedding style that works for you. I’ve worked with many brides that said they didn’t like flowers but the truth was, they didn’t like what they were seeing. So we created a wedding centerpiece made with flowers that was their style.
