The wedding cake design should fall right in line with the overall wedding day design. The shape, the details the colors, even the way you display your cake should be cohesive with your wedding design. When it comes to your wedding design, all the details matter and your cake is no exception. You are probably thinking, great another item to add to my wedding budget but rest assured, there is always a way to make things happen within every price point.
I always believe there are 3 ways to make anything happen. Over the top, The basics and just like goldilocks, something right in the middle. There is a way to make your wedding cake design and display be beautiful and make a big impact on your overall wedding design.
Over the Top – You are all about your wedding cake. The bigger the better. The more details the better and it must be Fabulous! You are getting a completely custom cake from a reputable cake designer. Also displayed in a beautiful over the top way. Upside down, on a swing a table covered in flowers. Your options are endless.
This cake was designed by J’Adore Cakes and the display was designed by June Plumm Events. It’s it Gorgeous!
Simple & Beautiful – You want it to be nice but this may not be the biggest priority for you. Something that is functional (feeds your guests) and is beautiful. Keep your cake design simple to match your wedding colors or one special decor detail of your wedding. Like designing your cake topper after your wedding monogram. Your wedding cake is displayed on a simple cake stand with rose petals and candles will do for you. You can upgrade the venue cake or hire a cake designer that understands your vision.
It’s Just Cake – If you feel like it’s just cake then you will probably want the bare minimum but you know you still want it to look like it’s a part of your wedding. Go with the venue’s cake offering and ask your wedding florist to provide you with fresh flowers to add to the cake. This ensures your wedding cake design is cohesive and it won’t cost you much to do so.
The goal is for your wedding cake design to be cohesive with the rest of your wedding decor. You don’t want your wedding cake to look out of place. I repeat, it will be in a lot of your pictures and your guests will pay more attention to your cake then you think!
