In case you missed it, the beautiful and talented Elaine Welteroth recently married her best friend right on her front stoop in Brooklyn. And it was beautiful!! Absolutely picture perfect day and you can have the same for your social distance wedding celebration.
WHO CAN COME
I know keeping a guest list to 150 people was hard and you are probably thinking how can you only invite 10 people. Well don’t stress, it will be easier than you think. Keep it to immediate family only. If you have extra room, invite your maid of honor and bestman. Or keep it super small and make it just the two of you. Everyone and I mean everyone can be invited to virtually.

WHAT TO WEAR
Whatever you want. You can wear your original wedding attire or if you want to save it for the big celebration you can do that to. Wear what you feel comfortable wearing. It’s still your wedding day. The size of it doesn’t change that at all.

WHERE TO HAVE YOUR WEDDING
Anywhere you want really but you have to follow the rules and have no more than 10 people. Even in your home! Reach out to your original wedding venue, your home church or any space that will open their doors for you. The easiest way to host your social distance wedding is to have it in your home but if that will not due, you have options. An outdoor space will allow for the best social distancing.

WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE IT FABULOUS
A small wedding does not mean your wedding should lack in fabulousity. You still want your wedding to be a day to remember. If you downplay the day, you will hate it forever. You don’t want to look back at your wedding day and hate it. And it doesn’t take much to make it pretty. A beautiful backdrop, a bouquet and boutonniere will get you off to on the right track. Or you can go all the way out with your set up. There is no wrong way to do this.

HOW TO MAKE IT OFFICIAL
Lucky for you, if you live in NYS, your officiant can make this all happen via video. This includes obtaining your marriage license as well. If your officiant is willing to do it in person, even better. Just remember they are a part of your head count of 10 or less.
I know you’ve seen this a thousand times but it’s true, Love Is Not Canceled. You can still get married. I know the plans look different but it can still happen and it will still be fabulous. The most important thing is you will be married and you can celebrate BIGLY when the time is right and we are all safe.
