Summer Wedding at The Prospect Park Boathouse

Lauren and Cordel’s summer wedding at the Boathouse in Prospect Park has been featured on Brides.com and we are super excited here at Fun Fete Fabulous.  The Boathouse in Prospect Park was the perfect backdrop for their elegant Brooklyn wedding.  

Lauren handpicked the Prospect Park Boathouse before Cordel popped the question.  They discovered the Boathouse while attending a picnic and it was love at first sight for Lauren. So once they started planning their Brooklyn wedding, The Prospect Park Boathouse was the only venue they visited.  

How it started….

Lauren contacted Fun Fete Fabulous after she started planning her Brooklyn wedding.  When I first met Lauren, we immediately connected.  She was just looking for wedding day flowers but after our hour-long conversation, she quickly realized she needed a planner to help her cross the finish line. Lauren and I started working together immediately.  Our first task was to get a handle on the logistics of the day.  And then we got to the fun part, the design!! 

The Wedding Ceremony

The wedding ceremony took place in front of the pond in Prospect Park.  The trees of the park were the perfect backdrop for them to say I Do.  We added to the greenery with two large greenery and white structures to create an altar.  

The Reception

Lauren wanted an intimate wedding so I wanted the Prospect Park Boathouse to feel like home to all their guests.  I designed the wedding guest tables with details that made the guests feel comfortable as they enjoyed the family-style dinner.  We kept the tables clean but detailed with charger plates, upgraded flatware and china rentals, custom menus, and crisp linens from Broadway Party Rentals.

The Personal Touches

After our site visit, we decided to change things up for the reception.  The guests enjoyed dinner and then were escorted to the patio for the traditional first dance and parent dances.  As the guests were having fun under the stars, my team and I were flipping the room into a lounge with rustic glam couches from Glam Party rentals.  When the guests returned, they had no idea what they were walking into. It was a nice surprise as they partied the rest of the night away.  

My Favorite Details

Lauren & Cordel’s wedding cake was so perfect and delicious.  It bought the design home. Ambrosia Confections created the perfect masterpiece.

Lauren’s bridesmaid dresses were to die for. I loved these gold gowns by Hailey Paige Occasions

My Bride was a dream to work with. I thoroughly enjoyed every planning meeting and call and the occasional dinner dates we had. It was like planning my friend’s wedding.
